July 16, 2011 Update
The search continues for Susan. The Police continue their investigation. Our Family continue to hope and pray that Susan will be found and that the police efforts will be successful. We also continue to receive support from friends and family.
The press has been allolwing Steve Powell the opportunity to be heard, which has caused Susan's parents to have to deny his baseless accusations, which are transparent attempts to deflect attention. We thank everyone for seeing through these wild accusations. We assure everyone that your faith is not misplaced, and that the truth will come out.
We thank the Media for their efforts to keep Susan's story alive. We thank the Police for continuing to work the case, and investigate every lead, they are truly doing everything in their power to solve this case. We continue to thank everyone for their continued support. Your Hope, Prayers , Help and support keep us going.

June 15, 2011 update
The Face book Group Friends and Family of Susan Powell is being archived, which means people will no longer be able to post on it. We have a new Face Book page "Friends and Family of Susan Cox Powell" which will allow for a continued Face Book presence. The exact difference between what is possible on on a page versus an group site is not clear to me, but I will continue to maintain this site with the latest information on Susan's case.
Judy and I visited West Valley City the end of April for about a week, we visited friends and supporters and met with the police. The police continue to work the case, and tell us they are making progress. I know how vague that sounds but we are confident that the police are doing everything they can to find Susan and build a good case. Please continue your prayers and support.

April 10, 2011 Update
The West Valley City Police continue to work the case, the foundation held a fund raising event on March 16th, Sponsored by Applebee's Resturant in Western Washington. Applebee's donated 15% of their proceeds from persons presenting a Susan Cox Powell, "Dine to Donate" flyer. We had a very good response with a local store reporting 90 customers participating. Thank you all for your support.
We coninute to believe that Law enforcement is doing everything they can, that Susan will be found and that the guilty will be punished. Susan's case has been revisited on several shows, each time her story is told we get a positive response, such as a message of support, or a lead for the police. Some times it is a lead that was already investigated, but we forward them all to the police, and then follow up with the police to ensure that the lead wasn't overlooked.
I am very thankful for the continued support, concern and prayers on Susan and our behalf. We will find Susan.

January 29, 2011 Update
It has been a trying month, very quiet as far as the case goes. Police are still making progress but we have no details on what that means. We continue to have good support from everyone, it feels like a break in the case just has to be coming, but when or where is unknown. Life continues on for everyone, but until Susan is found in many ways our life is standing still. It is something that I guess you just live with At the same time you can't move on without knowing what happened. We continue to have faith that Susan will be found and that the guilty will be held accountable. We continue to have faith that law enforcement are diligently working the case. We are still having issues with our PayPal link and continue to work on the mechanics of maintaining the foundation and trying to help others while foundation members struggle with their own personal challenges.
Thank you for your prayers, support and donations, we will put them to good use.

It is Christmas day the snow melted last spring, summer came and went, the snow came again, but Susan remains missing. The police keep in contact and are making progress with their case, but can not share the details with the family. We continue to hope and pray for Susan's safe return, but also continue to prepare ourselves for the day she is found. It will be complicated no matter what, that much is clear. The West Valley City Police still want to question Joshua Powell.
We marked the one year date with a focused effort to help others, it was a great success. I battle daily to remain positive, patient, and to keep Susan's Story alive, so that one person with that one bit of information, that will lead us to Susan comes forward. At this moment in time that is all I can do. I can assure you that law enforcement is continuing to actively work this case.
Every day brings us closer to finding Susan, I am positive that Susan will be found. We have hope Susan is still alive, but just this last week in Washington state near Seattle the skeletal remains of a woman was found bringing closure to her family after years of not knowing. The area she was found had been searched many times due to the Green River killer case. It is so very sad, each time a body is found the families with missing loved ones go through the same agonizing wait to find out if this could be their loved one. Finally for one family they know their missing loved one will not be coming home. The other families once again wonder if their loved one will be coming home alive. We will continue to hope for the best and prepare for what ever comes. Thank-you for your hope, payers, help and belief.

It is hard to believe that a year has gone by. Still no sign of Susan. The West Valley City Police continue to work the case and have teamed with Susan's parents and the foundation to launch a new bill board and poster campaign to keep Susan's face and story in the news, and hopefully to generate the tip that will bring Susan home.
We still enjoy the support of many faithful concerned people around the world. We have added links to our website for two new organizations, The Friends and Families of Missing Persons and Violent Crime Victims, and Peace 4 the missing. Both sites provide resources for families of missing persons, have accomplished much and continue to do important work, on behalf of those missing and their families.
Media interest in Susan's story remains strong, and we can not help but be optimistic that those with the answers will come forward, or be discovered. The members of the foundation, Susan and Susan's family have recently endured unfounded personal attacks that appear to be intended to discourage us, confuse the issues, and confuse supporters. Thus far the attacks have been seen for exactly what they are, baseless, false and self serving. We will continue to publicly deny these baseless accusations as needed and we challenge those persons making them to help "find Susan".
In Washington State, we plan on marking the 7th of December by supporting Santa Cops, in Puyallup, Washington, an established program that provided food and gifts to those that need it the most, as verified by actual working, dedicated police officers. Details of the work party will be announced.
In Utah there will be a Story time reading for children at the Whittier Elementary School in West Valley City, Monday, December 6, 6:30-8pm. We are also asking everyone to donate new or gently used children's books in Susan's honor to the Granite Education Foundation. On the 7th of December there will be a flier distribution effort based out of the Hunter Library from 11am - 3pm.
We encourage all supporters to help with local charities on the 7th of December, keep Susan in your thoughts and remember she and many others are still missing. Please continue to pray for Susan's safe return and that those responsible will be brought to justice.
Thank you all for your support.

On November 3rd the Salt Lake City Tribune sent a reporter to the Puyallup area to follow up on the case. The reporter met with the Cox family and as many had in the past attempted contact with Joshua Powell. The Powell's agreed to meet with the reporter and during two interviews one on the 3rd and one on the 4th, the Powell's stated their position. They made several allegations against Susan and the Cox family and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, their primary allegation being that Susan left her family. The other allegations can be reviewed in the Salt Lake City Tribune article. No evidence was provided to substantiate any of their allegations, and they did not elaborate on Joshua Powell's previously stated camping trip story. On the positive side the 2nd interview was at the Powell home and it is reported that Charlie and Braden are in good health. Susan's family denies that there is any truth to any of the Powell's self serving allegations, and believe that their validity and purpose is clear. On November 7th Charles and Judy Cox and Kirk and Jenny Graves traveled to New York City, to appear on Good Morning America to respond publicly to the allegations. Interviews where given after the Good Morning America interview with Robin Roberts, with Inside Edition, Jane Valez Mitchell, and Nancy Grace. Other interviews and statements where given locally in Seattle and Salt Lake City markets. We thank the Media for the opportunity to address the allegations.
The Cox family and the Susan Cox Powell Foundation recently discovered "Families & Friends of Violent Crime Victims". This organization will celebrate 35 years of service to victims on November 10, 2010. Family & Friends of Violent Crime Victims (FNFVCV) , (www.fnfvcv.org) is a nonprofit organization that shares many of goals of the Susan Cox Powell Foundation. FNFVCV has a national hotline for victims 800-346-7555 and 35 years of experience to share. We are very happy to have found another partner in our attempt to help the families and friends whose lives have become forever changed by this type of tragedy.
Thank You all for your support.

October 28, 2010
Another Month has past, we marked Susan's 29th Birthday with the launch of balloons from several locations around the world. Even with all the media we have received there are many people that don't know the story.
The police continue to work the case, but still have no time line or estimate of how long the investigation will go on, we are told they are making steady progress. That news is comforting but doesn't lessen our concern for Susan. We realize that like many other parents, and families we have no choice but to wait, hope and pray for the best outcome. The dedication of the West Valley Police Department is amazing, although they can not provide the family, the public or the press with details of their investigation, they continue to work the case carefully and thouroghly. I think it is as hard for them as it is for the rest of us, everyone would like that big break to wrap up this case and provide the answers we all want.
I wish, like all of you that there was something more we could do. But in the end, all we can do, is make sure Susan's story is not forgotten. It keeps people looking and thinking. It keeps more of our families safe. We value your support, comments, Prayers and Faith.
September 27 2010 Update:
It has been a busy Month, there was a great turn out for the "Ride for Their Lives" Surviving Parents Coalition event which raised awareness about Child Abuse, Child Abduction, and other issues good people just don't feel comfortable discussing. We visited with the West Valley Police Department, WVPD, while in Utah and where once again reassured that the case is actively being investigated and that progress is being made every day. We where told about more searches by the WVPD, and we disscussed tips we have received and passed them on. Most of the time those tips had already been provided to the WVPD and investigated. In some cases it was new information that will need to be followed up on. The WVPD remains responsive to all tips provided and questions of the family however they can not discuss the results of their investigation. Which means the WVPD can not report back to the tip provider if the tip what they found. This is because of three reasons, first there is a court order in place, 2nd to protect the integrity of their case, and 3rd it helps them to better evaluate tips from multiple sources.
The Dr. Phil Show continues to aired around the world the Netherlands being the latest to hear the story and join with us in praying for Susan's safe return and supporting law enforcement efforts and supporting Susan's family. I would like to welcome our new friends and once again thank the Dr. Phil show for their support.
As new people learn of the story they also become frustrated with how long it is taking and we get many of the same questions, "Are the police doing anything?, Why hasn't their been an arrest?, Have we seen the grandchildren?". I am going to add a fequently asked questions page here to attempt to provide official "Family answeres to those questions.
One area that has constantly been a concern to our supporters, is the suggestion that we use and work with physics. We have received tips from physics and passed them on to the WVPD, so far none have "cracked the case." In most cases once the physic's learn that we (Susan's Parents) have no personal effects of Susan they can no longer help us. Susan's husband took all of Susan's personal effects that where left after the WVPD crime scene investigators completed their work with the house and car. Josh Powell has not returned any personal items to Susan's family, so we have nothing to provide.
We continue to Hope for Susan's safe return, Pray for the Lord to help the Police find Susan. We pray for the Lord to comfort Susan and the boys, and we pray for the Lord to soften the heart of those responsible that they will release Susan or come forward so that her family can have closure. We help the Police in anyway we can, and help others as attacks against families continue. Hope - Pray - Help
We are not exceptionally strong people, we are just parent's, friends, and relatives dealing the best we can with life and this situation day by day, our faith and your support get us through.
Thank you all, Chuck and Judy Cox
August 29, 2010 Update: Susan is still missing, the search continues and the Police continue to investigate and work the case. No news on when an arrest might be made or if we are any closer to finding her, only that progress is being made each day. We continue to hope for the best outcome, pray for her to be found, and remain determined to help others as Susan would have wanted us to.
The Foundation began helping with the search for Kimberly "Kimmie" Daily, a 16 year old developmentally challenged girl that went missing on 17 August 2010, from Puyallup, Washington. We where assisted by the "Find Lindsay Baum" group. Once invited we went to "Kimmie's" home and met her father, grandmother and a very helpful and supportive next door neighbor. We had just started working with the family on the 23rd, developing publicity, media, planning a search and helping them set up a vigil for the 24th. Late that night, (the 23rd), we got the news that "Kimmie's" body had been found and police had a suspect in custody. Our hearts sank, in the few hours we had worked with the family, "Kimmie" became family and her family part of our family, their hope our hope, their battle our battle. "Kimmie's" family decided to hold the vigil as planned, we assisted them with a sound system, set up and organization. It is very difficult to explain the anguish of having a missing child, the relief that they have been found, and then the anguish and grief of such a tragic ending. We provided what comfort we could.
We must continue to band together to protect our families, and watch out for one another. The Police need our eyes, ears and help in solving these cases. There are many good people that want to help, realizing that it could just as easily have been their loved one.
The Surviving Parents Coalition is currently in the middle of their "ride for their lives" event. Ed Smart and Ahmad Rivazfar, two parents that have lived the nightmare, began their ride on August 21, 2010, from Rochester, New York to Los Angles, California , ending September 22, 2010, to publicize the problems and to encourage support for 4 laws that would help combat this epidemic.
The foundation will meet Ed and Ahmad on September 10th as they arrive in Salt Lake City, to show support. We encourage everyone to support the efforts of the Surviving Parents Coalition in this event. Thank You for your support and prayers.

August 16, 2010: The search goes on the WVPD continue to actively work the case along with other law enforcement agencies. Several volunteers have worked to ensure that all possible sites are searched, we appreciate their concern and effort. We fully understand the frustration everyone is feeling, we wish there was something we could do to find Susan and bring us all some closure. We do not see anything presently that is likely to do that, but we remain confident that our Heavenly Father knows where Susan is and is watching over her. We know that if Susan is still alive she will find a way to escape or call out for help. We live with constant stress from the hope that we will get the call that Susan has been found. The stress wears on us, and never leaves, we understand that the world and time goes on. We also realize that our lives have forever changed. We continue to be disappointed that Susan's husband is not helping to find her and is not cooperating with the Police. The support and love that people show brings us encouragement and our faith allows us to keep hope alive, and to patiently wait and trust in the Lord.
July 4, 2010 Update: On June 26, volunteers, including Utah foundation members, searched the West Utah desert carefully but Susan is still missing. We are awaiting forensic identification of the unidentified body, found in Wendover Utah, and a unidentified body found in Saint George Utah on July 3rd by fire fighters. It is hard to express the feelings we have. Every body that is found belonged to someone's son or daughter. While we hope for closure, we also hope to find Susan alive. While we are thankful it isn't Susan, we don't have closure. Time goes on, the investigation goes on, we wait.
The Lindsey Baum Day of Hope and remembrance, held on June 26th in Olympia, Washington was very successful. Judy and I attended and where comforted and provided comfort by other parents with missing children. Awareness was raised about missing children and protecting children, making the event a success. During the event a 14 year old runaway who had been missing for 8 months was found. The runaway had heard about the event, from a flyer posted, and wanted to attend. The runaway was recognized by a member of the Laura Recovery Center, admitted her identity, local police contacted her grandparents and she was reunited with her family. Who could ask for a better result? The event may become a annual event.
Hope Pray Help
June 2, 2010 Update: Susan remains missing. We continue to hope and pray for her safe return, while preparing ourselves for the possibility that she may not be be found alive. We are very grateful for the support we continue to see on the Friends and Family of Susan Powell facebook page.
We have used funds donated to the foundation (thank-you) for recent trips to Utah, to support the Police and others searching for Susan. In order to preserve those limited funds we have used personal funds to supplement them. We have also used the funds to buy publicity items, flyers, wrist bands, business cards, which are given free of charge to interested persons. This allows us to keep spreading the word and keep Susan's story fresh in people's minds. Every day and Every week we have new hope that Susan will be found. We are negotiating for some Billboards and hope they will help keep Susan's story and face in peoples minds. Those professionals we have worked with have been most generous.
There is another search effort being planned in Utah on June 25th, by good people wanting to help, details can be found on the facebook page under discussions. The West Valley Police Department continue to work the case, systematically following up on leads, tips. and undisclosed evidence. We are thankful for their commitment and tireless work. We continue to pray and be thankful for prayers offered for us.
